End of Life Care Support from the Nurse Educator

End of life care can heavily influence nurses due to the burden, stress and emotion of the event. The nurse educator can help support junior nurses and help shape this into a positive experience.  There is plenty of literature on the process and how nurses can support dying so we will focus instead on some of the topical discussion aspects of healthcare. The three videos below provide some great insights and some challenging ideas into death in the modern world. In a medicalised and technological healthcare system it must be reinforced that the focus remains on symptom management, dignity and person centredness, as more and more people will die in hospital rather than in their home.
